This project aims to develop the skills of civil society organizations and YALI Alumni on their interventions to provide quality legal services to grassroots communities. It also admits access to justice for the benefit of the population, this through the popularization of the civil code and civil procedure.
The democratic process and the emergence of the rule of law in Africa in the 1990s have made progress on the institutional level through the creation of democratic institutions and the periodic organization of elections. But the problem still lies in the appropriation of institutions and their mechanisms in relation to the level of citizens' knowledge of their rights and duties. This situation tends to produce a democracy that is much more institutional than functional.
Strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations in sub-Saharan Africa to civil projects and civil procedures; Engaging Sub-Saharan civil society organizations has helped grassroots communities, an appropriate process, by raising awareness and popularizing the law.
