Dear Friends and Supporters,
All of us at The River Fund and Little HEARTS Orphanage Nellore India thank you for your generosity and support over these many years. So it is with some sadness that we are retiring this project on Global Giving. We have seen enormous growth at HEARTS since 2005 when they began caring for just a few children. The building grew along with the number of children. We were witness to children not just receiving food and a roof over their heads but also a real opportunity for education. Children are tutored daily to help them succeed and many finish secondary school and continue on to further academic or vocational training.
The time has come for the River Fund to let go of this project. The program has exceeded our original mandate and needs fresh sponsorship and leadership that, as a small nonprofit, we are not able to adequately provide at this time. The River Fund will continue to support children and families who have been affected by the epidemic of HIV/AIDS and poverty. To do that well we will focus on our local Florida USA work and our Uganda projects that are the foundation of the service work we do. We have much gratitude to C.P. Kumar and his family and team at HEARTS for their compassion and care for so many children.
Thank you again.

Greetings from little HEARTS orphanage of Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh State of India.
Glad to see and greet you all once again through GG report end of the year 2017.
With your love filled kind donations all the children doing very well. Just with River Fund and your kind donations we have successfully been running orphanage since 2005 and have not been receiving any state or central government funding since beginning of orphanage.
Through this GG quarterly report, I welcome everyone who have been donating have a visit and spend time with our children.Be our guests and eye witness of our work. Working with orphans always tied first with MANASU (in English mind, heart etc.,) and then with MONEY!
Local people are always kind with LHO children by donating food mainly chicken biryani, fruits, snacks, rice bags, blankets, towels etc. I always keeping in touch with the executive director of the River Fund by sending pictures, videos time to time through WhatsApp.
I could say boldly that there is no scarcity for love, care, food and medical attention for children. Not less than 5 days my wife and I go and spend time from 7:30 PM to 10 along with Manager. Children like and love our presence very much. As parents always we are happy to see and and make them happy, laugh and play with shouting. Please come and enjoy our beloved children's loud laughings, fightings and complaints! Yes, we love those kind of mischievous play, laugh filled with fun by children.
Lot of appreciation by local donors. Few days ago 2 women from different areas requested us for their children who are single mothers. LHO is our brain child. We have always been doing very good.
All of my quarterly reports not from brain but from the deepest of the HEART.
Let us enjoy Christmas and New Year celebrations and don't forget us to remember and donate whenever you get an opportunity and don't miss any kind of opportunity to donate.
We wish and sending you Christmas and New Year greetings.

HEARTS
Dear donors greetings to all you from the heart of HEARTS.
Great to see you all once again through this GG Quarterly Report.
Happy to say from this academic year we have taken new kids, most of them are below 12 years old. Now the number of children went up to 60 from 43! Most of the kids are full orphans and others are who lost their mothers. New kids are very happy, feeding all the children with nutritious food every day like milk, egg and on Sundays Chicken/Fish curries will be served.
Every day, children go to schools and colleges at 9AM, elementary children back to LHO at 4PM, High school children come back by 5:30 and college students come back after 6PM. 2 tutors regularly come to teach and help children by 5:30PM and stay with children 7:30PM. Our main focus are on Maths and English subjects.
From last month 5 day week tutoring. Saturday and Sundays are free time to play, shout, dance and watch TV whatever they want to watch like movies, cartoons shows etc., Children have full freedom and at the same time discipline with love and consistency.
Almost all the children come from down trodden communities, slums, villages. They come without proper clothing, without manners. Their backgrounds are so sad and pathetic to listen. We never see a woman without tears when they come to LHO along with their children for admission. Heart breaking stories!!
These of children often feel loneliness and big cry for care and love. We try to make and keep them happy. Lot of patience needs to be shown to bring them back to main stream of life. Running an orphanage is not as easy as we speak!
Whenever a child feels sick, immediately we take them to the nearby children's hospital for treatment. It's very fortunate we found a Children's specialist for treatment for free of cost. His name is Dr. S Rao who is very kind for our children. We thank him for his services for free.
On every holiday all the children go to nearby Police Parade and Darga grounds to play. Elder children love to play Cricket, girls like to play Shuttle Batmenton.
Many local people from Nellore town come and celebrate Birthdays, Marriage Anniversaries, Memorials by donating food, biscuits, chocolates and cakes. On Saturday a man donated Rs.1500 for Chicken. Some students donate Note Books, Pens, Pencils. Engineering College students also frequently visit LHO and play with children. We encourage those guys visit again and again.
After tutoring is over at 7:30 they play for half an hour and go to dinner. After dinner also they go for walking and play till 9:30PM. All the lights will be off by 9:30PM. You can see children all the time with smile and laughing.
Whenever there are holidays for more than two days most of the children will be sent to their homes to celebrate festivals and to attend rituals with their families.
From 7th standard children wake up by 5 AM and get ready for studies till 7:30. Elementary children wake up by 6AM.
Recently we have changed ground flooring floor with new tiles which is looking nice and beautiful. The old flooring was 14 years old.
A longtime friend from USA donated 1000USD and also promised to donate more in the future who visited LHO ten years ago!
We appointed another new worker to help and take care of children. Also we need to a part time worker to work along with the existing workers.
All the children at LHO doing well. Please donate more to make existing kitchen bigger one and to buy new kitchenware.
We will get back to you with more information in our next GG report.
Until then, thank you very much.
