Dear Friends and Supporters,
All of us at The River Fund and Little HEARTS Orphanage Nellore India thank you for your generosity and support over these many years. So it is with some sadness that we are retiring this project on Global Giving. We have seen enormous growth at HEARTS since 2005 when they began caring for just a few children. The building grew along with the number of children. We were witness to children not just receiving food and a roof over their heads but also a real opportunity for education. Children are tutored daily to help them succeed and many finish secondary school and continue on to further academic or vocational training.
The time has come for the River Fund to let go of this project. The program has exceeded our original mandate and needs fresh sponsorship and leadership that, as a small nonprofit, we are not able to adequately provide at this time. The River Fund will continue to support children and families who have been affected by the epidemic of HIV/AIDS and poverty. To do that well we will focus on our local Florida USA work and our Uganda projects that are the foundation of the service work we do. We have much gratitude to C.P. Kumar and his family and team at HEARTS for their compassion and care for so many children.
Thank you again.
