First, we would like to send a special shoutout to GlobalGiving for generously awarding a COVID-relief grant to Orkeeswa School! This $1,000 grant was matched 1:1 by an Orkeeswa School board member, doubling the impact that GlobalGiving had on Orkeeswa School's COVID response.
Additionally, we would like to thank all of our supporters for their generous donations and advocacy on behalf of our students. Amidst the pandemic, your support is more important than ever, as it helps support not only our students on campus, but their impact on family and friends in the community as well.
Per government mandate, Orkeeswa School reopened to students in July. In preparation, we have taken several precautionary steps to ensure the safety and health of our students, staff, and community, including the installation of extra handwashing stations, and the provision of masks and hand sanitizer for all teachers and students. Thus far, we have not seen any COVID cases reach our community, and we will continue to be vigilant against COVID for the safety of our students and larger Orkeeswa community. Thank you for being part of our generous community of supporters whose scholarship and general fund gifts makes this possible and ensures our impact continues during these trying times!
