Orkeeswa School finished the 2018 school year strong, and students are now back on campus ready for the 2019 school year. In addition to welcoming our 400th student to the Orkeeswa family and celebrating 10 years of Orkeeswa School, 2018 was marked with incredible opportunities for Orkeeswa students in sports, arts, travel and academics. For a full look at our 2018 accomplishments, view our Year in Review Photo Album. Orkeeswa School serves over 290 students on campus, and over 125 alumni are active in post-secondary education and running their own businesses; many are employed in the community, and all are making a tangible impact in their homes and village.
The Orkeeswa Scholarship Fund supports students like Judith, a seventh grader who recently shared her reflections on a role model in her life: "My role model my is my Math teacher, Nginasi, because he likes to teach my class and he worked very hard when he studied at Orkeeswa to become a teacher here. He helps me with Math at school, and during the holiday he came to my home to help me. He always says to me, 'Make sure you understand what I am teaching you.' He is very intelligent in different subjects, but he knows the most about math."
The Orkeeswa School Scholarship Program makes all of this possible! With over 65 students in need of Scholarship support, our Global Giving Project for the Orkeeswa School Scholarship Program continues to provide critical funding as we ensure each student receives an affordable, high quality secondary school education. Thank you to those who are contributing to this fund, and please help spread the word to others who may be interested in joining our network of supporters.
On behalf of Judith and all of the students at Orkeeswa, thank you for your support.
