Orkeeswa School recently graduated 27 students from the 12th grade in June, and also recruited our newest class of 47 students. The new 6th grade class is 70% female and we are so excited to have all of their eager, smiling faces on campus! The newest class also includes Orkeeswa School's 400th student, bringing us to over 400 students and alumni served. Orkeeswa School's campus is now at 291 students and our alumni are active in post-secondary education and running their own businesses, many are employed in the community, and all are making a tangible impact in their homes and village.

The Orkeeswa School Scholarship Progam makes all of this possible! With 75 students now in need of Scholarship support, our Global Giving Project for the Orkeeswa School Scholarship Program is more important than ever. Thank you to those who are contributing to this fund, and please help spread the word to others who may be interested in joining our network of supporters.

The Orkeeswa Scholarship Fund supports students like Leah, who recently shared her reflections on a role model in her life.

"My role model is my teacher Andrew because he is empathetic, brave, and he likes to help others. He is very helpful because if you are playing football and you fall down, he will come to tell you he is sorry and take you to the nurse so you can get up and play.  He is also helpful because he helped me learn how to dance. I didn’t know how to dance, but he helped me to feel confident. When he sees anyone having a challenge, he helps them to overcome that challenge without telling anybody that they have a problem. I want to be like him because I want to be able to help others in my life. I hope that one day I can help people do things they didn’t know how to do and be their role model."
