Through research we have learned that we need to create a pond of three meters - deep enough to hold cages for the fish we will raise on our organic farm. This will allow us to harvest the fish twice a year and provide the marketplace in Natitingou with a source of excellent protein. We are also learning how to make our own fish food from the organic waste materials of our beer.
Shortly, we will announce this project locally and start recruiting 15 students who are eager to learn how to farm fish for a living. There is much enthusiasm for this and we need your ongoing support to make it happen.
In the meantime, the local white herons and other birds are enjoying the water that has accumulated in the area where our pond will be dug, which is heavy in clay and retains water beautifully.
