Waterborne disease is a killer number 1 in Onura!
For years, the desperately poor villagers of Onura, mostly children and women, had to walk many kilometers every single day to fetch water from a river contaminated by parasites that cause illness and even death. The area is so remote that their request for help came to no attention of aid organization. But Hope Ofiriha stepped up to the challenge with a commitment to build a water pump for clean, accessible water, while also providing hygiene to the people.
The donated fund of $2,245 is in the bank– and when we achieve the budget goal of the project we will give Onura clean water. We still need $9,582!
Your gift will dramatically change the lives of poor families in Onura, by reducing the rate of waterborne disease, sparing women and children from the long trips to fetch water, and improving the general health of the people.
