As members of Leadership Initiatives' [LI] International Business Internship Program, Dylan, Natalie, and Nicole from Onondaga High School have been working with LI to help create & sustain businesses in Bauchi State, Nigeria. To transform lives, the team & LI are working to build a business development center. At this center, vulnerable men and women will receive training in life-skills, vocational skills & business to empower and equip them to escape extreme poverty.
Ukasha's biggest challenges that he faces include a few crucial components to running a successful business. Ukasha is in need of advertising. His business is lacking a name and a logo. People only know about his business through word of mouth. By creating a name and logo, we can put it on flyers, business cards, and many other means of advertisement. This would allow for Ukasha to have more customers, strengthening his business. He also does not have a way of keeping track of his finances.
We will create a system for Ukasha to keep track of his revenue. This system would entail creating receipts he can use for his customers and a spreadsheet to record profits. In addition, we will design a logo for his business and other advertising methods such as flyers. By donating to Ukasha, you can help make necessary investments in Nigerian businesses for tools and new equipment. If Ukasha can purchase these tools, then he can fix more motorcycles and make more money, allowing him to expand.
By donating to Ukasha, you are helping not only one business becomes more profitable but you are helping all of Nigeria to become more profitable. You transform an entire community. You will feed the hungry, get jobs for the unemployed and give hope to the hopeless. If you donate to Leadership Initiatives, you can help his business can grow and many more throughout Nigeria. By employing people, Ukasha's business can prosper and more people can have food on their table through a day of work.
