Heroes Who Simply Stay Connected

What if keeping children safe wasn't the responsibility of a few people…

What if it became the responsibility of all of us?

That is the vision behind Childline Kenya's #OneBobHero Campaign, a growing movement built on one simple belief:

Everyone has something to give.

For some, it is one shilling.

For others, it is their voice.

Their professional expertise.

Their network.

Their time.

Or simply the willingness to tell another person that help is only a call away through the National Child Helpline 116.

Together, these seemingly small acts create extraordinary change.

Recently, Childline Kenya hosted a special fundraising reception bringing together former staff members and alumni who have, over the years, contributed to the organization's journey.

The event was more than a reunion.

It became a celebration of shared purpose.

Former colleagues reflected on children whose lives had been transformed, friendships forged through service, and lessons learned while protecting Kenya's most vulnerable children.

Many spoke about how their time at Childline Kenya had shaped not only their careers but also their outlook on life.

Although they now serve in different organizations, sectors, and even countries, one thing became abundantly clear:

Once you become part of protecting children, you never really stop.

The day sparked fresh conversations about how alumni could continue contributing, not only financially but also by opening doors through their professional and personal networks, mentoring younger professionals, creating awareness, and encouraging others to become #OneBobHeroes.

The campaign was no longer simply about fundraising.

It had become a community determined to keep the mission alive.

Every Hero Looks Different:

One person gives one shilling every month.

Another shares Childline Kenya's work on social media.

A teacher introduces learners to the Child Helpline 116.

A business leader sponsors counseling sessions.

An alumnus connects Childline Kenya to a new corporate partner.

A parent teaches another parent how to recognize signs of abuse.

Each action may appear small on its own.

Together, they create a powerful safety net for children.

This is exactly how movements begin.

Not through one extraordinary act...

...but through thousands of ordinary people deciding to do one extraordinary thing together.

Every contribution to the #OneBobHero Campaign helps ensure that children experiencing abuse, neglect, violence, exploitation, or emotional distress can access life-saving services through the National Child Helpline 116.

It supports counseling, rescue, therapy, temporary shelter, family tracing, legal referrals, and the many interventions required to help children recover and thrive.

More importantly, it reminds every child who reaches out that someone cares.

Join the Movement: Become a #OneBobHero today.

Together, let's keep children safe, one act of kindness, one connection, one shilling, and one child at a time.
