33 families now have their own toilets:
With your support, the project has collected USD 2641, which is a great success and a sign of trust among the supporters and donors. The amount that AWARD has received will be spent on constructing four toilets for needy families in the rural areas of Faisalabad.
AWARD has completed building 33 toilets along with 33 one-room houses for the flood-affected communities of Sindh, who lost their homes during the disaster. AWARD Pakistan has constructed 40 toilets in this quarter for these communities. The project on GlobalGiving has generated great support and will continue reaching out to communities and families where toilets are still an exception.
Nearly 10 percent of the population of Pakistan lacks access to sanitary toilets, enabling diseases like typhoid, polio, diarrhea, jaundice, and cholera to flourish. The women and children with no toilets venture outside the house in pitch darkness with a gas lamp every day, with no access to a toilet for the rest of the day, making them vulnerable and unsafe. We request that all our donors keep supporting us and keep donating.
