MANYO aims at building bipartisan support to make sure every child in the slum of Mathare North in Nairobi, Kenya have access to high-quality early learning and to protect children living in conflict zones around the city. We limit our reach to a smaller number of children who will benefit from this project to 30 enabling us to concentrate our effort on building trust. These are the under privileged kids and their families who are living in poverty. Teachers are among the beneficiaries too.
Over half of girls in Kenya will miss joining schools due to believe by certain communities that educating a girl child has no value. According to the reports by The ministry of education 28% of age 5 who are eligible to join full-day Kindergarten but are left at home. In Kenya, some 2.5 million young people are unemployed, and only five percent enter the formal workforce each year. This project will affect 30 underprivileged children who reside in Mathare.
MANYO will support building renovation for our school and enriching the children's education with educational toys and teaching supplies. Work to enrich the children's lives through implementing improved health and nutrition infrastructures. Creating safe places for children to play and helping to generate sustainable sources of income for families. The staff members and mothers will be trained on child nurturing and the mothers will impart the knowledge to their neighbors.
MANYO is committed to supporting women to live fully, giving them tools, tips, and inspiration to move through challenges in every aspect of their lives. Introducing sports to children from an early age will help to develop long term healthy habits and enhance their social skills and abilities. Sport helps to educate children about teamwork, discipline and time management, all valuable for success in education and other aspects of life.
