From a Box to a Companion for New Parents

By Chaden Moataz | Projects Manager

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Last year, we introduced One Baby Box with a simple belief: welcoming a new baby should come with support, not uncertainty.

Our first year was about building that support—developing an evidence-based Baby Box that brings together practical tools, trusted information, and messages of reassurance for parents during the earliest days of their child’s life.

This year, we began taking the next step: bringing that support closer to families and continuing to shape it around what parents actually need.

From Preparation to Real-Life Support

A Baby Box is more than the items inside it.

For a new parent, the first days can bring endless questions: Is my baby feeding well? How do I care for the umbilical cord? What is normal? When should I seek medical help?

One Baby Box responds to these questions through simple, accessible guidance on breastfeeding and infant nutrition, newborn health and hygiene, early development, and safe, nurturing care.

By taking this information directly to families, the project helps turn trusted health knowledge into something parents can use in their everyday lives.

Reaching Parents Where Support Matters Most

Our focus continues to be families who may face greater financial or social challenges and who may have fewer opportunities to access reliable guidance.

The project is built around a simple principle: parents do not need to be told what to do—they need to be supported to make informed decisions for their children.

This is why One Baby Box combines practical resources with reassurance, helping parents feel more confident during a period that can be both joyful and overwhelming.

What Comes Next

The next chapter of One Baby Box is about learning.

As the project reaches more families, their experiences can help us understand what information is most useful, what questions parents continue to have, and how the Baby Box can become an even more effective companion during the earliest stage of a child’s life.

Our ambition is not simply to distribute a box.

It is to build a trusted starting point for parents—one that connects knowledge, care, confidence, and access to appropriate support.

With Gratitude

Your support makes it possible for us to continue turning a simple idea into practical support for families.

Together, we are helping parents begin one of life’s biggest journeys with something every family deserves: reliable information, compassionate support, and the confidence to care for their child.

With appreciation,
The Shamseya Team
