The Math and Knowledge Olympics have a general objective to encourage children and young people to value science and contribute to the reinforcement and expansion of content. It also aims to improve education through engagement in the dynamics proposed in an Olympics and to develop behavioral skills, besides identifying talents in each area of knowledge, opening opportunities to discover vocations, and developing individual potential.

Starting at the end of August we will begin preparations for the Olympiad:

PHASE ONE

The first phase is divided into two tasks, one for each team:

Math/Technical Team - Solving applied math and computational logic challenges;

Social Team - Must choose, study and present a video with a problem that is relevant to their local, regional, or national community, within the theme of the O.D.S described in the announcement.

SECOND PHASE

In the second phase, the math/technical team and the social team will work together to prototype an application that can solve the problem proposed by the social team in the first phase (the guidelines for prototyping will be provided during the Olympiad).

CHALLENGE

In the Challenge will be invited:

The 10 best-ranked Teams by the scores of the first and second phases.

And 10 best performing teams in the optional test of basic programming that will be offered for selection.

Teams that are not among the 10 best ranked in the second phase and wish to participate in the App Challenge will have the opportunity to take an optional stage - the Test of Programming and Computational Logic, as another opportunity to qualify.
