Creating Lasting Change in Our Community

GlobalGiving Report | April – June 2026Foundation for the Holistic Development of Children and AdolescentsActivity Report

The Foundation for the Holistic Development of Children and Adolescents continues to carry out activities aimed at improving the quality of life of children, adolescents, and families living in vulnerable conditions. During the months of April, May, and June, the Foundation implemented a variety of educational and community-based initiatives designed to promote positive values, strengthen family well-being, and provide support to those who need it most.

AprilEaster Celebration

In celebration of Holy Week, the Foundation organized a special event where habichuelas con dulce, a traditional Dominican Easter dessert, was distributed to the children. The purpose of this activity was to preserve cultural traditions while creating an atmosphere of joy, unity, and fellowship among the children and their families.

Distribution of Beds to Children in Vulnerable Situations

As part of our commitment to children's well-being, the Foundation also distributed beds to several children who did not have an adequate place to sleep.

Through home visits, the Foundation identified families with urgent needs, where children were sleeping on the floor or under conditions that were detrimental to their health and development.

By providing these beds, we helped improve their living conditions by offering a safe and dignified place to rest, contributing to their physical and emotional well-being.

Visit from Ashton School Students

The Foundation was also pleased to welcome a group of students from Ashton School, who spent a day sharing activities with the children at our institution.

The visit included games, interaction, and activities that fostered friendship, solidarity, and companionship. As part of the event, pizzas were shared with all the children, creating a joyful and memorable experience for everyone involved.

Impact Story

During the same month, the Dominican Republic was affected by severe storms that caused damage in several communities.

One of the Foundation's beneficiary families was seriously affected because their home had a dirt floor, and the heavy rainfall significantly worsened their living conditions.

In response, the Foundation provided support to install a concrete floor in their home, greatly improving their living environment.

This intervention made a meaningful difference for the family by providing a safer, cleaner, and healthier space for their children to grow and thrive.

May

During the month of May, the Foundation organized a special event dedicated to the mothers of the children and adolescents participating in our programs.

The gathering provided an opportunity for appreciation, fellowship, and recognition of the essential role mothers play in raising their children and strengthening their families.

As a token of gratitude and appreciation, gifts were presented to all participating mothers, who enjoyed a joyful and meaningful celebration.

June

During June, the Foundation conducted an educational workshop for adolescent beneficiaries.

The program focused on two important topics:

Life Project (Life Planning)

Participants were encouraged to reflect on their personal, family, academic, and professional goals. The sessions emphasized the importance of planning, responsibility, making wise decisions, and working diligently to achieve their aspirations.

Abortion Prevention

An educational seminar was offered to encourage reflection on sexual and reproductive health, personal responsibility, respect for life, and the prevention of adolescent pregnancy. The workshop also emphasized the importance of making informed decisions and seeking guidance and support when facing difficult situations.

Program Impact

Throughout the period from April through June, the Foundation for the Holistic Development of Children and Adolescents reaffirmed its commitment to the comprehensive development of children, adolescents, and families within the community.

The activities carried out during this period enabled the Foundation to:

  • Provide social support to families living in vulnerable conditions.
  • Improve the living conditions of several children.
  • Strengthen family values.
  • Offer educational guidance and personal development opportunities for adolescents.

The Foundation remains committed to serving with dedication, responsibility, and compassion, continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most while helping to shape responsible and productive citizens.

Scholarship Program Achievement

The Foundation proudly celebrates the graduation of a group of students who participated in its English Language Scholarship Program.

Thanks to the Foundation's support, along with the students' hard work, discipline, and dedication, they successfully completed their English studies and graduated with honors, demonstrating their commitment to academic excellence.

This important achievement represents a significant step toward their personal and professional growth by strengthening their skills and expanding their access to better educational and employment opportunities.

Nutrition Program

During the reporting period, the Foundation served:

  • 2,992 breakfasts
  • 8,939 lunches
