The formulas will be given for one year after breastfeeding ceases or to children who lacked breastfeeding.

The combination of lack of breastfeeding and little money ( to buy proper formulas ) is common among patients who normally use the public health system. Our goal is to give proper formula to all preterm babies who will come to EPM's Outpatient Care of Premature Infants. The formulas will be given for one year after breastfeeding ceases or to children who lacked breastfeeding, during the child's first corrected year. A most adequate nutrition during the first year, granted by the distribution of formulas, shall prevent such nutritional disorders.
The nutritional disorders during the premature children's first years increase the risk of small stature in adulthood. Preterm born children will also frequently present chronic lung disease, and malnutrition may jeopardize lung growth. It may also raise the risk of neuropsychomotor development in premature children. The supplying of formulas monthly shall reduce such repercussions.
