AAWC enjoyed the beautiful season!

Organizational Updates

  • Festive Celebrations: This season we celebrated Navratri, Diwali, Children’s Day and Christmas with devotion and festive fervor.
  • Accolades:  AAWC was privileged to get selected by FunOKPlease as partner for fund-raising for the book launch event of “Brown like Dosas, Samosas and Sticky Chikki.” FunOKPlease is a Mumbai based publisher of children’s books in English. Udaan beneficiaries gave an amazing performance on “Mujhe kya Bechega Rupaiyya”
  • Capacity Building: The Communication and Fundraising Managers networked with partners, peers, technologists, diplomats, activists and experts and discussed about challenges in fundraising and communications in workshops conducted by Peace Tech Exchange and GlobalGiving Current Partner. The staff also attended a workshop organized by AAWC on ITPA on various definitions and provisions in the existing Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act of 1956 and proposed amendments to it.
  • Monthly medical check-ups: Umeed, Umang, and Udaan members were examined by medical teams from Reliance Foundation and Decimal Foundation and administered medicines, de-worming and Vitamins as per necessity.

Umang Updates

  • Recreational Excursions: The toddlers enjoyed outings to the Byculla Zoo and the Girgaon Chowpatty and celebrated Sports Day. They also enjoyed ‘Jungle Book’ and ‘Chillar Party’ movie screenings.
  • Art & Craft Activities: The tiny tots enjoyed diya-painting, mask-making, collage making, colorful butterflies and hand printing activity.
  • Therapy Sessions: Dog therapy sessions facilitated by Animal Angels Foundation started in the month of November with the aim to bring about behavior assessment and modification through animal supported therapy.
