This time we want to tell you about our educational program; the ‘ONIdiarioWixárika’. It consists of an educational tool designed for the learning of boys and girls that belong to theWixárika Indigenous Communities that we attend, which are located up in the Northern Mountains of Jalisco. The 'ONIdiario' aims to guide children, mothers, fathers, tutors and the whole family on topics about nutritional health and human development. This information is conveyed through an interactive booklet filled with dynamic activities that encourage the involvement of the attended communities.
Among the topics seen in the program, we can find ‘The dish of good eating’, 'Food security’,'Culture of peace’, etc. The activities are designed upon the ‘watch, judge, act’ methodology, so that, in a given moment, the children and the families can make autonomous and informed decisions about their nutritional habits, always prioritizing their living conditions and their access to resources.
Thanks to your donations, it’s possible to impact on the nutritional health of thousands of children that now consciously practice healthy eating habits together with their families and community, preserving and respecting the Wixárika language and culture.
