Notas de Paz is a model for peace building through education and musical training for 125 children living in an area of extreme poverty and a high rate of social violence in Cali, Colombia.
Children from Bellavista in Cali, Colombia, are exposed every day to the harsh reality of extreme poverty, teen gangs, social and domestic violence and a culture that accepts violence as a way of solving daily conflicts. Notas de Paz is a program that goes beyond music training, it uses music as a strategy for promoting a culture of peaceful co-existance and for preventing social risk factors, as it is an extra-curricular activity that contributes to the full development of the individual.
Notas de Paz offers musical training, psychosocial support and a daily nutritional supplement to 125 children and young people who live in Bellavista, an area of extreme poverty and violence in Cali, Colombia.
The project will give 125 children and young people who have been deprived of the finer things in life, an opportunity to try out their skills, learn self discipline, group work and to dream about a better kind of life through musical education.
