Our Menstrual Health Management initiative in the Kathmandu valley, led by dedicated Sarathis, has made significant strides in raising awareness about menstrual health and hygiene management. Thanks to the generous support received, our Sarathis have continued to conduct impactful workshops, reaching out to various communities and breaking the taboo associated with menstruation.
The workshops, conducted with utmost dedication and enthusiasm, cover a wide range of topics, including the anatomy and physiology of menstruation, social issues surrounding menstruation, and the role of men in this natural process. These sessions also aim to debunk myths and misconceptions about menstruation, fostering a more informed and supportive environment for young menstruators.
In an effort to promote inclusivity, our Sarathis extended their workshops beyond schools, engaging with visually impaired students and orphanages. By providing knowledge and resources for better menstrual health management, we strive to empower individuals from all backgrounds. These sessions have been particularly impactful in marginalized groups, where access to information and proper menstrual hygiene products is often limited.
To further support students from marginalized backgrounds, our Sarathis distributed choice kits that include reusable pads, disposable pads, menstrual cups, and sanitizers. These kits offer a variety of menstrual hygiene products, catering to individual preferences and needs. Additionally, we ensured inclusivity by providing a braille version of the manual developed by Visible Impact, promoting an accessible learning environment.
The financial support we received has been instrumental in sustaining our efforts. With these funds, we were able to cover transportation and lunch costs for our dedicated Sarathis who volunteer their time for this cause. Moreover, the expenses for stationeries used during the workshops were taken care of, ensuring smooth operations. As a result, our Sarathis organized a total of 43 workshops, reaching over 1300 adolescents across the Kathmandu valley. The impact of their workshops was further amplified through 38 insightful blogs they wrote on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Gender Equality, which were made available on our website for public access.
We are immensely proud of Sarathis Batch V, who successfully completed their training and actively contributed to the cause. Their unwavering commitment and hard work left a positive impact on the communities they served. Simultaneously, we welcomed Sarathis Batch VI, who were selected to continue the legacy of promoting menstrual health and empowering youth.
The continuous support from our donors, supporters, and volunteers serves as a driving force behind our success. With your contributions, we have been able to mobilize and empower young people, including marginalized youth in our journey towards breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation and improving menstrual health management.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who make our mission possible. Your generosity and dedication empower us to create lasting impact and transform the lives of young individuals. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey towards a more inclusive and enlightened future.
