TAR aims to give orphans and disadvantaged children in Romania a real chance of success by providing in-depth counselling to children who need it most, and by providing education and development programs that hold the promise for a brighter future. TAR's programs help to build strong character and teach them positive values, which are important to their future success and happiness. Last month, a 45 year old woman and a 13 year old girl were raped in our community. In the past 3 months, the number of burglaries has been on the rise. The future is staring at us. This is the future of the 20000 orphans Romania still has and the many more children that live in disadvantaged communities. This is the future of our community unless we do something about it now. The major issues we are facing are poverty and lack of education - two big issues behind the stats.
TAR has supported over 2000 children recover from trauma and abuse, prevent school abandonment, continue their education, equip them with skills for a productive life and support their talent, create opportunities to stop the vicious cycle. Our programs are based on: 1. addressing the issue of poverty, by equipping children with necessary tools to continue to go to school 2. Support them through their education, create non-formal educational programs and help them become the best they can be.
Our goal is to create sustainable communities around us. Lack of education in the long term leads to more and more crime. This is the future of our global community. Because, in the past 10 years, 3.4 Romanians left the country. It is the second highest global emigration growth rate after Syria. We can tailor solutions to give children in need hope for a better future, reduce crime and develop highly skilled individuals. NO CHILD WITHOUT EDUCATION
