Hope you had a great summer!
Summer is our opportunity to get the animals outside for some fun. The dogs like to frolic in the kiddie swimming pools to keep cool and the cats enjoy watching the birds from their windows.
Now that fall has arrived, the staff and volunteers take the opportunity to do cleaning projects. In September, George Fox University sponsored a Serve Day and thousands of students helped non-profits in Yamhill County with various projects. The animal shelter had 15 students & staff cleaning, organizing, painting and gardening. It was great to get the chores done quickly. And of course, there was time to meet the animals too!
This is also the time we get many kittens and puppies surrendered to us. We provide medical care, food and spay or neutering. This can be a challenge when we have 60 to 80 kittens! Thankfully, through community support, we can find forever homes for our animals.
Thank you from the staff and volunteers for your continued support of the shelter and the animals.
