Good news! We have reached our fundraising target for this project. Thank you to everyone that has donated to this campaign!
We have signed a contract agreement with Down’s Syndrome Association of Nepal (DSAN) and are working with them on the final details to prepare for starting the project. We are helping them to tweak the training curriculum to ensure it delivers the best outcomes for parents participating. We are also supporting them to develop effective tools to measure the impact of the project.
DSAN are planning to hold the first 3 day training for parents in the next few weeks, with another one to follow. They have a group of parents who are very excited to take part in the training.
Thanks to everyone who donated to this project and made it happen! We will keep you update with our progress as the training takes place in Nepal.

Children with Down syndrome in Nepal
We have had some good fundraising news! We have received an offline donation of £2000, leaving us with only £116 to go to reach out fundraising target and get the project started. This, added to your generous donations means we will begin implementing the project very soon!
We will start working with Down Syndrome Association Nepal straight away to work on a timetable for implementing the project, and they will begin reaching out to the families that the training will be aimed at. We will keep you updated on our progress as we start the project.
Please consider donating again or sharing with your friends and family to help us raise this last bit of money we need!

Supporting parents in Nepal - fundraising progress

Young boy with Down syndrome
Thank you to everyone who has donated generously to this important project – we are around a third of the way to our fundraising target! We will be pushing our fundraising campaign hard to ensure we are able to start the project as soon as possible.
As you know, this project is aimed at supporting parents of young children with Down syndrome in remote areas of Nepal. The areas we are aiming at are very poor and cut off from the rest of the country for much of the year due to being in the mountains and extreme weather in the winter. This means many families have no support or information on how best to care for their young child with Down syndrome. This project will make a huge difference to the lives of these children, giving them the best possible start in life.
Thanks again for donating to this project. If you are in a position to donate again or to tell your friends and family about our campaign we would really appreciate it. We will keep you updated with our fundraising progress and hope to reach our target soon so we can start supporting families on Nepal.
