We have had such a busy summer, adopting 5 new villages, and starting up our projects there. Our new villages, Absharback, Fardal, Geleidat, Um Jadoul, and Hashab Baraka have just held Inception Meetings, to ensure each community understands the importance of democratically electing not just those who will run our projects, but also the beneficiary families. Beneficiary families are the poorest in the community and we now have all the details of the first families who will receive the first flocks of goats. Goats bring nutrition to the children and a chance to sell extra milk, and thus an opportunity for a stable home! This is really wonderful and we couldn't have done it without you!
And, of course, there is always more to do. We are working hard to make sure everyone in our villages can have a home. This always proves challenging. As refugees leave the camps in hopes of starting a life, villages welcome them in and give them some land but nothing more. It is essential that these families are able to build homes and start again in life. In the five new villages we have adopted this year, there will be local families and new arrivals all hoping for goats, donkeys, plows and seed for planting and more...and a new life and home ahead.
We would be so grateful for your continued help, as we implement our sustainable projects in these new villages, and strive to adopt more.
