Dear Friend!
First I want to thank you for contributing to our campaign for purchasing new beds for our residents. Even though the campaign didn't take off online, through generous donations we were able to purchase 8 new beds for our emergency respit house. We will continue to raise support to update all of our furniture at each of our properties so that our residents live in dignity.
We're launching a new GlobalGiving campaign to support our ongoing and remarkable companionship program, and we hope you'll join us! Companionship is at the heart of our work. We provide affordable housing with clinical services and we believe those resources are vital for ending homelessness, but it can't stop there. Housing first and then COMMUNITY. Companionship is how we cultivate community at our properties. Volunteers commit a year to walk alongside our residents -- offering outings, one-on-one talks, assistance with setting up a new home, or throwing pizza parties on the weekends. The relationships that are formed between resident and companion are remarkable.
This model of relationship focused housing has had a remarkable impact on our residents, with over 95% retaining housing for longer than three years.
