Spay/Neuter 700 homeless dogs in Tabio, Colombia

Dear donor and friend! We are happy to share news with you. Some days ago we reached our goal of 700 sterilized stray dogs and cats. Though it always seems that our cause never might end, we are proud of the accomplishment, above all, because most of them found a forever home or a shelter and only a small percentage had to return to their pickup location. Let’s have a look on our small selection and learn about their histories.

1. Noam and Liam. We rescued Noam from death row, he is a big dog, old and blind, so he had no chance to be adopted. Liam is his guide since their stray life, we already wrote a proper report about both, know their touching story, which you can find on our Global Dog Sponsorship Program.
2. Menta also has her own report already. Rescued from a puppy mill, still a puppy herself. Happily adopted, her new name is Maky
3. Six cats, rescued by a local foundation. We use to help out with food and our spay/neuter program and sterilized them all the same day. Some of them are adopted now, the others are still at the shelter
4. Leen, a sad story. The day of her surgery we found a huge tumor, pressing on the bladder. We´ll write about her story in a separate report.
5. The black pup was found lost in the streets. A friendly person picked her up and turned into a foster fail.
6. A bunch of Shitzus, rescued from a puppy mill. They all found loving forever homes
7. Quite a territorial, homeless dog. After neutering him, he sadly had to return to the paddock he had turned into his home.
8. Canetto, the beautiful stray with an italian name, was fed by the neighbourhood, until he found his favourite person
9. Koi, the elegant Border Collie, the 700th animal to undergo surgery, rescued fom negligence on the part of his family. Actually he is in a foster home and we hope, this family will adopt him
10. Jupiter, or Jupilín, as we lovingly call him. Our giant, an Irish Wolfhound mix, lives with other rescues in our shelter
11. The soul brothers Caramelo and Espresso. They went through a rough time together, but are now safe with a foster family. Hopefully they´ll find a forever home together.

This is only a small selection of the record of the last 100 sterilized animals, but we know and remember them all. Thank you for making this possible. Now we’re on the way to our 800 goal. Let’s do it together!!
