In the 15th year since our founding, we have had the opportunity--guided by fantastic local leadership--to influence lives in rural Uganda. It is easier to explain the ramifications of malaria on school going children now that we have experienced COVID-19. Malaria--like COVID--when diagnosed causes kids to miss weeks of school. Malaria, though, still has a high mortality rate among children. If children survive the illness, the impact of missing school may be the "final straw" for school going children and may result in their dropping out. We have--at the recommendation of our local partners--begun efforts to expand the local hospital. The primary beneficiaries will be children and adults and the maternity unit. Malaria affects every aspect of health and every unit in the clinic. We will continue our efforts with prevention particularly for school going children. We thank you for your support.
