According to the Situation Report #01 on the Rasuwa–Bhotekoshi Flood, issued by the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) on 1 September 2026, the 26 August ice–rock avalanche and subsequent debris flood severely affected the Bhote Koshi–Trishuli–Narayani corridor, impacting approximately 1.6 million people across five districts. The report records 987 deaths/recovered human remains, 3,916 reported missing persons, 279 injured, and 11,814 people rescued, including 253 foreign nationals. More than 21,000 security and rescue personnel have been mobilized, while 3,702 households (14,461 people) in Gosaikunda and Aamachhodingmo Rural Municipalities of Rasuwa remain isolated due to damaged roads, electricity, and communication networks. The disaster has also caused extensive damage to bridges, housing, schools, health facilities, water systems, hydropower infrastructure and livelihoods, with continuing risks of secondary flooding, landslides, debris flows and river blockages. Immediate needs identified include food, shelter materials, solar power, drinking water, health supplies and improved access to isolated communities.
