Nepal Flood Relief Fund

Families along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river corridors lost everything in minutes. Three weeks after devastating floods and landslides tore through northern and central Nepal, thousands of people remain missing, and remote mountain communities are completely cut off.

Thanks to your generous support, our first round of grants from the Nepal Flood Relief Fundis already saving lives. Local organizations are on the ground right now delivering critical food, clean water, and emergency shelter to displaced families 

The destruction is widespread, and the work is far from over. Here’s a short description of how our partners in Nepal are supporting their communities right now: 

• PHASE Nepalis providing shelter, food, clean water, hygiene kits and other essentials to some of the most remote and hard to reach Himalayan communities impacted by the floods. Throughout recovery, PHASE aims to restore access to essential services such as schooling for children, rebuilding individual houses that have been destroyed, and strengthening livelihoods for mountainous communities. • Janaki Women Awareness Society (JWAS)is distributing food, clean water, hygiene supplies, emergency shelter, and other essential items to communities affected by flooding in Nuwakot. As needs evolve, JWAS plans to provide psychosocial support and help restore local livelihoods, supporting communities as they recover and build long-term resilience.  Read more about their response through their GlobalGiving project here.

• Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation Nepalis providing food, clean drinking water, temporary shelter, medical assistance and medication, hygiene kits, and other essential supplies to impacted communities in Rasuwa. 

• United Community Nepal is mobilizing emergency relief teams in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan to distribute food, clean water, hygiene kits, and temporary shelter materials. In the long-term, the organization aims to establish temporary learning centers in the flood-affected areas to provide continuity of education to at least 200 children.
