Thank you for supporting this project. The total riased through this channel in the past three months is only $400, but believe me, that makes a big differnce at this point, as to whether or not we can keep the plants watered and alive.
Recent, important activities at the site have been cleaning the well we use to water the plants, fixing the waterline that feeds the irrigation system in the greenhouse and buying gasoline for the pump that makes the well useful to us. All basic, all simple, but not possible without this financial support.
The good news is that the red cotton plants are doing really well; better than any of the others! This is the first good harvest from the greenhouse of this color of cotton.
The bad news is that the research team at the Autonomus University of Mexico discovered previously undetected genetically modified genes in our plants! They used a new set of protocols and discovered other genes. Unfortunately this meant that we had to up-root many plants in the greenhouse and all of the plants in the field. This is a big set back for the production of clean seeds, but we can overcome it with time.
