Dear friends,

I hope you are safe and well wherever you may be.

The recent outbreak in Vietnam before Tet holidays has caused some concerns for our programs and activities planning this year, however, we hope the situation will get well controlled again this time thanks to prompt actions by the government here.

Nevertheless, we would love to give you some positive updates about what happened to Narrow The Gap in the past three months since our last report. In November, we started another fundraising campaign to raise more funds and volunteering support from companies and communities to the three selected grantees, we also managed to successfully arrange visits at the offices of our two corporate partners, Premier Oil Vietnam and vsource, where the three grantees had the opportunity to share more about their projects to the companies' employees (with more than 80 employees participated in the two visits).

As a result, we are delighted to share with you a good news that vsource company agreed to help build a new website for WASH AND ACTION CAMPAIGN AGAINST COVID-19 FOR KHMER SCHOOLS by the Center for Rural Research and Development of An Giang University as well as donated some computers to all three grantees. Premier Oil Vietnam, in the meantime, is considering to provide some addition fund to one of the grantee in 2021, we will keep you posted about this in our next report. In addition to all of this, we also helped the three grantees making a video communicating about their projects for further support from the public, you can check out the three videos on our fanpage here https://www.facebook.com/NarrowTheGapProgram.

By doing this, we wanted to help build a stronger relationship between the grantees, corporate partners and public community beyond Narrow The Gap program.

Besides all the needed support the grantees get from the corporate visits, we are also very proud to receive very touching, heartwarming feedback from one of the nonprofit representatives from the visits: "For the first time in our life we had this unique experience, to visit, to be welcomed and to be listened from a big company in Saigon, we are from Ca Mau, a far away land, very few people know about what happening in our lives down there, so these were such invaluable learning opportunities and experiences for us", shared by Mrs. An, President of the Women's Union of Nguyen Viet Khai commune in Ca Mau who participated in the corporate visits for the first time.

As for 2021, despite the uncertainty with the pandemic, please rest assured that we will continue to do our best to provide suitable support to local grassroot nonprofits to address the issues in their own communities with our Narrow The Gap Program, we think it is even more important now with the Covid-19 are affecting many lives in Vietnam.

Therefore, thank you so much! This couldn't have been possible without your generous donation and support. You made all this happen!

Meeting our three grantees from Narrow The Gap 2020!

Dear Friends,

First of all, I want to sincerely thank you very much for all your support and understanding towards Narrow The Gap and our team at LIN, after months of delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, we finally managed to successfully organize the Narrow The Gap 2020 program thanks to all the understanding, patience, flexibility and dedication from participating nonprofit organizations of the program this year.

To ensure the safety of everyone, we organized a virtual presentation where nonprofits could present their concept notes through Zoom and Livestream to Grant Allocation Committee members from their own provinces, including an online Q&As session for all finalists to answer questions from the community; you can access to the recording Q&As session here

After the presentations and calling for online voting from everyone in the community, we finally had the final results of the three grantees who were selected to receive grants from Narrow The Gap on the 20th September. I am delighted to share with you the results from the voting with some highlights:

3,440 people voted online of which 2,555 people voted validly
3 projects were selected to receive VND 120mil funding per project from the program
2 projects completed the voting round with remarkable votes

The three selected grantees are:

BAMBUSA VULGARIS project by Herbal Medicine Group
WASH AND ACTION CAMPAIGN AGAINST COVID-19 FOR KHMER SCHOOLS by the Center for Rural Research and Development of An Giang University
FIND CLEAN WATER FOR MY VILLAGERS by Nguyen Viet Khai Commune Women's Union in Ca Mau province.

Once again, We would like to extend our sincere thanks to you not only for the donation, but also all the support and understanding during the program implementation, which allows three projects access to funding and support to continue their work and mission at their own communities despite the Covid-19 pandemic situation

For the next steps, we will collect feedback from participating local NPOs, Grant Allocation Committees, partners and volunteers for our future improvement. If you have some feedback or any suggestion, we would love to hear from you too.

In addition, this year, we will continue to help the three selected grantees to raise more funds and volunteering support from companies and communities. Therefore, we are going to launch a fundraising campaign for the three grantees in mid-November to get more funding support for the grantees going forward. So please stay tuned!

Covid-19 can't stop the good things we do!

Dear friends,

We know things have been turned upside down for many of us during this trying time and we hope you are safe wherever you are at the moment. That being said, our collective work and its impact still really matter to many people every day.

We also understand sometimes it could be hard to keep track of the impact of your contribution and learn how we can do together to even better support the local communities and people who need help. In that spirit, in the third and fourth quarters of 2019, we organized Site Visits for projects that were selected in the funding rounds of 2018 to 2019 of Narrow the Gap, from which LIN can promptly evaluate the impact of projects on the community and provide appropriate solutions and orientations for the next quarters.
