TRYING MOMENTS
By Zipporah Sangiluh | Project Manager
We have had critical times at the Centre this term, but we thank God that we have seen ourselves through. When we opened for the Second Term, we have taken 10 children (girls ranging from 6 to 12 years) who have been sexually assaulted by their relatives from various household and put them at a Central home where we are monitoring them. We have then registered them at this Centre and provided them with uniforms, shoes, activity kits and food. We have taken them to various hospitals for various examinations and we are happy that the hospitals have agreed to wave off the bills.
Lonah, one of the 10 girls said quote I WILL NEVER FORGET MZESA CENTRE IN MY LIFE. I NEVER KNEW THAT ONE DAY I WILL EVER SIT IN A CLASSROOM AND READ. THANK YOU MAMA ZIPPORAH, MAY GOD GIVE YOU MORE YEARS TO SEE ME AND MY FRIENDS THROUGH. Unquote
We have had two ladies (friends of Mzesa Centre) who have come out to help them with sanitary and promised to do so throughout their education.
We take this opportunity to thank all of you who are donating to this Centre as we have managed to buy 8,000 litre Tank for clean water and now our children are happy and proud because the will not go around looking for water.
Thank you and may Our Almighty God bless all of you.

Beginning of this year has been very challenging with a lot of new children coming to this Centre. We have collected 8 children from various dumpsites and convinced them to show us their relatives and other siblings and located only 3 families. We took them to the Clinic for testing HIV/AIDS, bought them uniforms, shoes, bags for their books now they are adopting school life. We have managed to register 5 of these children into a HOME FOR CHILDREN as we did not manage to identify their families. Though this is our testing period, through counsellig, loving and feeding them we pray that they will like the school-life and continue learning.
Our Baby Care Department also has more children than expected, which is also a challenge to this Centre. We do not have enough mattresses, milk and even porridge-flour enough to feed them, but we are trying through your help. We have managed to buy a few kilos of powdered milk and kilos of porridge flour because of the kind help we get from you and we sincerely thank you for this gesture. Thank you very much. How do you think we can do better than this? Please help us with any idea We have Annette and Lynette (twin sisters) who can not do without milk and porridge. We have Trezer, Peres , Eunice, Lucy and Emily who came from Dumpsites and have a lot of needs like home-clothes, shoes, sanitary (apart from school needs) and are big enough to go on the street and dumpsites again and start prostitution.
We thank you so much our brothers and sisters who are seeing us through by donating. May God our Almighty bless you so much, so that you can continue blessing these children.

It is another term, a term which was full of ups and downs. We have experienced a lot of difficulties with pupils running back to their usual dumpsites because of lack of food. We have struggled with the food shortage and high cost of every food stuff. But we thank our well-wishers and donors who have enabled us to go and persuade these kids and have managed to bring them back to the Centre. This happened because we managed to buy sacks of dry maize, beans and rice for them. We had gone round from store to store in such of these in vain. For sure, thank you our brothers and sisters out there who are helping us keep and teach these kids. We pray for you and sincerely you will not lack anything in your life. Your donation makes a lot of difference to these kids. I don’t think we could manage to keep these kids at this Centre without your help. Thank you indeed.
We also thank our Area Chief and our Councilor who called a Baraza (Area Meeting) and asked everyone to get concerned with those kids who have gone back to the street and dumpsites. He told the gathering quote Please go everywhere and look for these kids and bring them back to the Centre because if you will not do this, you will be grooming a very bad society which will come back to this community and kill us. Please get involved! Unquote. When these kids heard that we now have enough stock of food, they agreed to come back to the Centre and we are happy that we closed the School when all of them are here. We have even managed to order School uniforms for those whose uniforms are torn. We have promised to supply them with a pair of shoes when we open in January and we are praying that we shall fulfill our promise, with the help of your donation.
May God our Lord bless you and we wish you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful and prosperous New Year.
