Closing Report: Clean Water & Education in Kenya and Zambia
Thank you for supporting Clean Water & Education in Kenya and Zambia. Your generosity helped strengthen locally led efforts to improve community health, expand literacy access, and create safer, healthier environments for children and families in Kenya and Zambia.
In Kenya, support for the Watha Project contributed to ongoing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) education efforts in rural Kilifi County communities. Building on prior outreach that trained 556 individuals across six villages, this project continued reinforcing practical hygiene education and community awareness around disease prevention, water safety, and long-term household health practices. These efforts are especially important in remote communities where transportation barriers and limited infrastructure can make consistent health access difficult.
In Zambia, support for the Munali Youth Empowerment Program (MYEP) helped strengthen literacy programming and educational support for vulnerable students in Lusaka. MYEP continued creating structured reading opportunities, improving access to books and learning materials, and supporting learning environments where children can safely develop foundational literacy skills. In 2025 alone, MYEP facilitated 42 reading sessions that contributed to improved attendance and increased engagement among participating students.
We sincerely thank you for investing in this work and for believing in locally led development.
There will be future opportunities to support the Watha Project, MYEP, and other GRACE Cares initiatives, including upcoming GlobalGiving campaigns such as the July 15, 2026 Bonus day campaign. We hope you will continue following our work and staying engaged as these programs continue to grow and expand their impact.
Thank you again for helping support healthier communities and stronger educational opportunities in Kenya and Zambia.
In gratitude,
GRACE Cares
