Success Stories!

MFW was founded in the year 2020, at the height of the COVID0-19 pandemic. We launched this initiative partnering with only two music programs located in Peru and Haiti, and a handful of students. In the last four years we have exponentially increased our impact around the world, and are proud to announce that we are starting to see the results of four years of hard work through the achievements of multiple of our students.

Adrian:

Last year, Kenyan violinist Adrian won the presidential scholarship, the highest scholarship for incoming students at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. This scholarship is covering his tuition, room, and board in its entirety.

Adrian started to play violin at age 15, and he loved this instrument so much that he decided to learn it on his own. His training before joining our program was very limited, however he was playing at a very high level due to his dedication. Adrian was a member of the Kenyan National Youth Orchestra and started taking violin lessons with MFW’s cofounder Kelley, who guided Adrian throughout his entire application process.

Marlon

Marlon started violin at age 13 as a member of the Peruvian music program “Los Violines de San Juan”. Being one of the most talented students, Marlon took private lessons with a few Peruvian private teachers. Marlon was one of the first violinists to participate in our program by taking violin lessons with MFW founder Jesus Saenz, and worldwide violinists. This year, Marlon won a position with the Cusco Symphony, one of the leading Peruvian symphonies.

Esteban

During our first edition of Festival Musicians for the World 2022 we met Esteban, a young Peruvian student who drove with his parents for ten hours from Arequipa to Cusco just to see our teachers perform. After performing at the Church of Andahuaylillas in Cusco, MFW violin teacher Ellie was moved by Esteban’s efforts and offered him a private lesson which happened right after the concert while the musicians were packing up. Since this musical interaction, Esteban has been taking lessons with Ellie on a weekly basis, and we are happy to announce that Esteban has been taking school auditions in the USA successfully. We are proud of Esteban and can’t wait to see what school he ends up being part of!

At MFW we are fully committed to empowering music programs across the globe, and there is not enough we can be doing to help well deserving music programs and students worldwide strive in music. We want to thank all of you who believe in our cause and are supporting this kind initiative, stay tuned for more updates on this venture!
