Two New Guitar Clubs and Guitar Programs at Monarch School!

By Jessica Baron | Executive Director

Happy Holidays, Friends!

We're excited to share that the guitar programs in San Diego County are growing!

GITC's guitar club at Lincoln High School is in its third year, and is bursting at the seams with 27 students who already got their own guitars this fall thanks to you!

We've added a guitar club at Clairemont High School, too, and clubs are going strong at Morse and Garfield. Staring in January we will launch new guitar clubs for teens after school at Hoover High School, and we're working on getting started at San Diego High School, too!

GITC is also teaching guitar twice a week for elementary students in Chula Vista at Lauderbach Elementary, after school .Mr. James loves working with the young students.

Next month, we will be launching guitar classes for 8th graders and also an after school club for high school students at the Monarch School. This special place serves students experiencing housing insecurity. They do amazing work educating, supporting, and encouraging unhoused students and helping their families to find wrap-around services and homes. We are honored to become a part of bringing music to this group of students for whom music can bring healing, inspiration, and hope,

Thank you so much for giving our small team the encouragement and fuel to keep bringing the music to students in need. Because of your support of this effort, the GITC faculty has grown to meet the needs in schools, and this means more work for highly qualified and caring guitar instructors. The ecosytem of guitar education is functioning outside the normal music programs schools offer and that is why this is an independent, nonprofit project! We are pleased and proud to be in this endeavor with you.

Thank you for your care and generosity!

Wishing you an affirming season of love, light, and joy, so deeply deserved...

Jess
