Little Kids Rock - Transforming children's lives

by Little Kids Rock, Inc.

Little Kids Rock is a national nonprofit that is dedicated to building a world where kids can live rich, purposeful lives by ensuring that all public school children have the opportunity to unlock their inner music makers. Teachers in public schools with limited or no music programs receive specialized training and free instruments to give kids lessons on playing and composing in the musical styles they love.

Little Kids Rock operates in schools having no music education or in schools in which the music teacher wishes to rejuvenate the music curriculum. We serve public schools where 50% or more of the students qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch program. We awaken the creativity that supports learning and self-discipline in academically, socially and economically at-risk students through music. Students gain a strong sense of accomplishment and self-worth as they develop their musical skills.

Little Kids Rock provides public school teachers with musical instruments, equipped with curricula, and trained to use our methods to teach music in their schools. Students learn to play instruments at an accelerated pace, and compose and perform original songs.

Long-Term Impact

Little Kids Rock has given more than 400,000 students the gift of music education in their public schools so they will have the opportunity to enrich their lives through music. Children who participate in music instruction develop skill-sets that prepare them for higher education and adulthood.
