Greetings all! Thank you for all of your support and encouragement. We are so grateful to have fantastic donors like you. On behalf of all of the people working to make AnnieCannons a success, here's an update on our progress turning your donations into social impact:
We started teaching our Pilot cohort on November 21st, and we are pleased to report that our students are progressing well ahead of our projections. We have taught our pilot students personal finance, basic digital literacy, and the foundational concepts behind the Internet and computer programming. Tomorrow, we dig into the Software Development Lifecycle and begin our Qualtiy Assurance testing module.
We kicked off last week with our first brainstorming session on practice projects, and our students contributed many ideas on how software could deliver social good. Their ideas, such as an online map of available services for the homeless in San Francisco, will become the class examples we use to teach and refine skills.
I am also happy to report that, thanks to your donations, we have been able to provide one of our students with the childcare support she needs, as well as helping two of our students with transportations costs as they travel across the Bay for training. As an organization, we firmly believe that it is critical to provide opportunities to survivors of human trafficking AND to elimiate many of the barriers that keep survivors from thriving in the modern workplace. But, we still rely on continued support from donors like you to succeed.
Thank you again for all of your support, and please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or if you would like to be further involved.
All my best,
Laura
