Dear Donors,
With the multiple crises Lebanon is going through, it has become extremely difficult for families to afford their basic needs.
Najma, a widow and a Syrian refugee living in Beqaa mentioned that she cannot afford to buy food for her children, most days, they depend on their neighbor’s leftovers.
For this reason, URDA made it its mission to support vulnerable families of different nationalities living in various Lebanese regions, including Beqaa, Aarsal, Akkar from the very start of Ramadan by providing clothes, food, and toys. It is only through your donations that we were able to support and bring happiness to people who need it most.
This project targeted individuals that live under the poverty line and are experiencing food insecurity. These individuals were supported through the distribution of 110 food parcels and 560 hot meals that benefited 3,350 individuals. We also distributed 1,800 raw chicken and vegetables and 250 meat portions to give 2,050 families the chance to reexperience the joy of having a home-cooked meal.
Rimas, a seven-year-old girl in Akkar has been using a pillow as a doll since her parents cannot afford to buy her a toy. This Ramadan, we distributed 700 toys and organized an Eid Festival in the Al Yasmine Syrian refugee camp to spread the happiness and joy that every child has a right to feel during Eid.
Best regards,
URDA Team
