The Monarch Home is conceived for the accommodation and education of 100 girls and adolescents in conditions of vulnerability. The spatial distribution separates educational, recreational, accommodation, community, and worship functions articulated through pathways arranged in a cloister typology, facilitating location and circulation throughout the complex without losing sight of the safety of the resident girls and adolescents of the home. The determinants for the design and final disposition of the construction on the land refer to the utilization of solar light, the selection of materials with minimal maintenance needs, direct relationship with nature, and inclusion of green areas within the complex.
The preliminary project is implemented on a rural plot with flat topography. These characteristics define the geometric arrangement of the volumes through the continuity of circulations at the same level. However, the administrative, accommodation, and service blocks function as independent structural units and could be subject to adjustment if required due to the acquisition of a plot with some non-significant variation in its morphology. The construction is arranged on a single level, and it will be carried out progressively, prioritizing the blocks. Once completed, the exterior urbanization works will be executed, including hard areas, gardens, orchards, and perimeter enclosures.
