Moldova is a landlocked country between Romania and Ukraine and is the poorest country in Europe. With high levels of poverty, CERI's Kids 'n Boots mission helps orphans stay warm during winter months and below-freezing temperatures.
You can help by purchasing new pairs of warm winter boots and dry socks for children who are impoverished. CERI staff and teams of U.S. volunteers personally size and outfit each child and youth identified for this mission with new winter boots and warm socks.
The Kids 'n Boots mission helps prevent frostbite in children and youth who are impoverished. Frostbite is the medical condition where localized damage is caused to skin and other tissues due to freezing. At or below freezing 0 C (32 F), blood vessels close to the skin constrict, and blood is shunted away from the body's extremities. Lack of blood leads to freezing and death of skin tissue in the affected areas. Of the four degrees of frosbite, each has a varying level of pain.
