Summary

Our special 50th Anniversary Campaign, aimed at expanding our Mobile Health Program and services. For 40 years, bringing essential medical and dental care directly to the communities that need it most, where they live, work, and gather, has been a critical component of our health care delivery. Our long-standing commitment to accessibility and care remains today, and our goal is to raise $1.5 million to reach more community members and bring the care they need to where they are.

Challenge

Out of 100 of our patients, 98% are from low-income households, 24% are uninsured and 63% are insured by the Oregon Health Plan or Medicaid. In addition, over half would be best served in a language other than English. For five decades Virginia Garcia has worked to help establish a healthier community and minimize the economic, language, and cultural barriers that exist for our most vulnerable patients when receiving health care.

Solution

Our Mobile Health Program will operate year-round to reach deeper into our communities, ensuring greater access to care. In partnership with community organizations, we will bring our mobile units to apartment complexes, worksites, community centers, schools, and community events-making health care more accessible for many underserved, low-income populations.

Long-Term Impact

This expansion aligns with our vision of ensuring that all people in our service area have access to timely, high-quality health services, enabling them to achieve the best possible health outcome. Our goal is to increase our current 52,000 established patients by 15,000 within the next three years. We hope to also contribute to a reduction in emergency department utilization and improve overall health outcomes for our communities.
