Project Report on
Mobile Health Clinics for Conflict Affected Mothers (70815)
Dear GlobalGiving Community,
Warm greetings from No One Down Relief Organization (NODRO).
We are pleased to submit our latest progress report for the project “Mobile Health Clinics for Conflict Affected Mothers.” This initiative is designed to provide essential healthcare services to vulnerable mothers and children living in conflict-affected and underserved communities in Ethiopia.
During this reporting period, NODRO continued delivering life-saving maternal and child healthcare services through mobile medical teams that travel to remote communities where access to health facilities remains limited.
Project Overview
The Mobile Health Clinics Project addresses urgent healthcare gaps faced by mothers and children in communities affected by conflict, displacement, and poverty.
The project focuses on:
• Providing maternal and child healthcare services in remote and underserved communities
• Delivering antenatal and postnatal care for pregnant women and new mothers
• Offering basic medical treatment and health screening for mothers and children
• Conducting nutrition screening and health education programs
• Strengthening access to essential healthcare services in areas with limited medical infrastructure
Through mobile health outreach, the project ensures that vulnerable families receive timely, accessible, and lifesaving medical care.

During this reporting period, the project achieved the following milestones:
1,120 mothers and children received medical consultations through mobile clinic services.
310 pregnant women received antenatal care services, including health check-ups and counseling.
245 mothers received postnatal care services and follow-up visits.
480 children were screened for malnutrition, with referrals provided for severe cases.
Distributed essential medicines and hygiene supplies to vulnerable mothers and families.
Conducted community health education sessions focusing on maternal health, nutrition, hygiene, and child care.
Early Impact & Beneficiary Stories
Access to Life-Saving Care
Fatuma, a pregnant mother living in a remote conflict-affected community, shared:
"The nearest health center is very far, and transportation is difficult. When the mobile clinic arrived, I received a health check and medicine. It gave me hope and peace of mind for my pregnancy."
Beneficiaries report:
• Improved access to maternal healthcare services
• Early detection of pregnancy complications
• Increased awareness of maternal and child health practices
• Reduced health risks for mothers and newborns
Nutrition and Child Health Support
The project has also focused on improving child health through:
These interventions are helping reduce the risk of severe child malnutrition and preventable health complications.
Challenges Encountered
Despite strong progress, several challenges affected project implementation:
Difficult road access to remote communities
Shortage of medical supplies in some areas
Increased healthcare needs due to displacement and conflict
Limited transportation and operational resources for mobile clinics
To address these challenges, NODRO has:
• Strengthened coordination with local health offices
• Mobilized additional volunteer health workers
• Improved logistics planning for mobile outreach services
Monitoring & Accountability
NODRO maintains strong monitoring and accountability systems through:
Medical record documentation for patients served
Community health data tracking
Regular supervision of mobile clinic teams
Beneficiary feedback and community consultation meetings
Periodic health outcome assessments
