Our mobile counseling unit continues to provide much-needed psychological support to people within their own communities. Accessing such support is often challenging here in Lebanon, as quality services are either unavailable or unaffordable for most individuals, and there remains a societal taboo around seeking this kind of assistance. To address this, we have strategically parked our big blue R.V. in five different areas around Beirut, making support readily available to more people at no cost. As a result, we are witnessing not only individuals seeking help for themselves and their children but also encouraging others to do the same.
THE IMPACT ON LIVES
One mother shared with us the positive impact of our mobile counseling unit on her daughter, Maria, who has been attending weekly sessions. Maria had been facing difficulties with anger, frustration, and fear at home, but after receiving counseling from our psychologist, her mother noticed a significant reduction in these challenges. Recognizing the benefits, Maria's mother expressed her strong desire for her daughter to continue with the sessions and recommended our service to other parents whose children are facing similar issues.
So far this year, we have done 561 counseling sessions for 105 beneficiaries.
