Our Mobile Counseling Unit delivers accessible and specialized mental health care to communities across Lebanon, empowering families and children to heal and thrive.
Lebanon is battling its worst economic crisis since the civil war, which resulted in around 55% of Lebanese people living below the poverty line and up to 23% living in extreme poverty. As for refugees, according to the UN, 9 out of 10 Syrian refugee families in Lebanon live in extreme poverty. As a result, prioritizing mental health becomes almost impossible when people can barely afford their most basic needs.
One of the main obstacles to mental healing is taking the first step and seeking out a counselor. By bringing the counselors to the people instead of the other way around, we eliminate this obstacle and serve the underprivileged in their setting. We provide counseling sessions for all those in need, focusing on women and children. We treat potential mental issues like PTSD, depression, anxiety, social withdrawal, negative coping strategies, and communication barriers among family members.
Mental health counseling can help individuals manage their symptoms and improve their well-being. Mental health counseling can help individuals develop coping skills and strategies to manage their mental health symptoms. Many individuals in Lebanon have experienced trauma, whether from war, conflict, or displacement. Mental health counseling can help individuals process and address trauma-related symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, and avoidance behaviors.
