In 2022 IBC has successfully established a mobile bakery adjacent to its multipurpose community shelter in Mykolaiv, ensuring its continued operation beyond the initial project phase. Uniquely positioned in the region, the bakery not only serves local communities but also supplies fresh bread daily to other NGOs, aid organizations, and facilities supporting the homeless and people with disabilities.
Currently, the mobile bakery produces up to 4,000 loaves of bread each day, providing vital food assistance to vulnerable populations, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and conflict-affected residents — particularly single mothers and the elderly.
Over the past year, the initiative has been sustained through IBC’s own resources. However, with rising demand, reduced operational capacity of other local bakeries, and decreasing funding, maintaining this essential service has become increasingly challenging.
Having now secured funding for the next few months, we are closing this project on GlobalGiving. The $100 raised through this campaign has already helped 10 families meet their bread needs for an entire week. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and continued support.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
