Helping poor and vulnerable children, some with disabilities and most orphaned, this centre provides love, support, accommodation, meals and schooling for more than 175 children.
The Centre is a registered Ghanaian charity set up by Siaka Stevens in 2001, dedicated to helping disadvantaged children. Near the small town of Akomadan it has on an acquired 6 hectare plot, a centre where needy children are cared for, accommodated if necessary, supported and schooled. We have been involved there since 2006, helping first to build accommodation, dining, kitchen and washroom facilities; we then helped building the school which is now complete and in use, helping 175 children.
We plan to help very soon with teaching training and support. The school will generate income from the community to support itself and other aspects of the work of Misthy Cee.
We are very impressed with the enthusiasm, dedication and hard work of the local team, and feel confident that this resource centre will benefit a large number of children by giving them loving encouragement in the difficulties facing them everyday.
