In this quarter from February to May, 2026 the marginal rural women were demanding income generation activities as a sustainable livelihood improvement. Based on technical feasibility of the areas where they live, the implementing organization MRC Nepal have been introduced off season vegetable production technologies by organizing marginal rural women farmer. In this regards these rural women involved from nursery raising activities to post harvest handling and marketing. Along with these, these rural women get production inputs, training and technical backstopping support by MRC. So that these rural women are capable of earning so attractive income from a pieces of land. These also create employment and income generation.
Overview this situation, MRC Nepal supported seed of vegetable which are market potential. Along with this MRC Nepal supported production materials, domestic pesticide preparation technology for organic vegetable production, capacity building training and technical backstopping support. As a result they are able to produce vegetable and sell in the market. They are very happy with this income. Not only selling vegetable but also they consumed organic fresh vegetable meeting kitchen requirement. They are able to improve health status by consuming protein and mineral rich vegetable. In Nepal the poorest of the poor families grow vegetable as they are rich sources of vitamin, protein and mineral. Also vegetable gives better productivity of land. Also they receive good income from the selling of surplus vegetable produces apart from consumption.
At the last the rural women thanked to GlobalGiving and MRC Nepal for getting such genuine support of income generation and consumption.
