Your immense generosity is powering GlobalGiving’s Israel-Palestine Crisis Relief Fund. Your donation helps civilians receive food, psychosocial services, medical care and much more thanks to our vetted nonprofit partners in the region who are working tirelessly every single day to meet the needs of their communities.
The crisis is becoming more dire by the day, including in the Occupied West Bank. In recent days, Israeli military forces killed at least 18 Palestinians in large-scale attacks around Jenin and Nur Shams refugee camps. Reports indicate 70% of Jenin’s infrastructure is now damaged or destroyed. In addition, there is a rapid acceleration of land being seized from Palestinian families by settlers. In Gaza, bombardment and raids by the Israeli military are also intensifying, resulting in dozens of new deaths of Palestinians each day. Overall, between 7 October 2023 and 2 September 2024, Israeli forces have killed at least 40,786 Palestinians and rendered 94,224 injured.
Meanwhile, massive protests and a general strike took place across Israel during the first days of September following the discovery of the bodies of six slain Israeli hostages who had been shot while held captive by Hamas. Local media reported upwards of 500,000 demonstrators in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other cities, who took to the streets calling for a ceasefire deal and a hostage release.
This is why your donation means everything. Support of the GlobalGiving Israel-Palestine Crisis Relief Fund powers community-led responses, and it means our trusted nonprofit partners in the region get the critical resources they need to respond to the needs around them, especially amid unfathomable and irreparable attacks on civilians and continued mass displacement by Israel’s military forces.
Mrs. Najah, a Palestinian aid worker and grandmother in Gaza, shared this with GlobalGiving:
“Despite the challenges, I remain committed to serving my community. I have been doing this for over 20 years. My job is to understand people's needs and try to meet them as much as possible. In this time of war, it's important to help and feed the displaced, starting with one pot and one kitchen. Today, we have 11 kitchens and cook 40 pots. Even after the war ends, we must continue cooking. Things will not go back to normal right away. It [will] take years. People have lost everything and lack any resources and the need for food will remain. I want to help others while waiting for the war to end and for life to return to how it was. I long to live in peace and security, just like people all around the world.”
The GlobalGiving team is committed to providing updates to your inbox about our work through the Israel-Palestine Crisis Relief Fund in the days and months to come. Please expect another report just like this one from our team as we will soon be awarding another round of grants to our nonprofit partner community on the front lines of response.
All donations to the Israel-Palestine Crisis Relief Fund will enable more flexible support for our partners and drive greater impact in the region. We stand in solidarity with our nonprofit partners in the region and continue to call for a ceasefire and respect for international humanitarian law. In all that we do together as a community, let us choose peace and security for all.

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
