This project will Provide micro-loans, business trainings and technical support to struggling 300 poor women (Widows) in Northern Uganda, empowers them to start small businesses and create a better life for their families. The borrower's priorities for the use of their profits from the business are; Better nutrition, Healthcare and paying school fees for their children (Orphans).
Civil war that lasted for about 20 years and HIV Aids Caused Severe Death in Northern Uganda, left behind many poor widows and needy orphans as very many young girls and women were raped during the insurgency by both LRA rebels and the government forces . Today, Most of them survives on one meal a day with very poor diets or even go without food the all day. Worse of all, many needy Children (Orphans) are out of school because their mothers or Guardians can not afford to pay them in school.
We will provide interest free -loans of between $100 to $150 to women to start up their Own businesses. we also organize weekly business trainings and are available to give technical support and business advice to them. Once Loans are paid, we collect and give it to another borrower. Hence revolving funds, Moving from one woman to another.
Helping a needy family to afford basics of life like food, shelter and sending children to school is our goal, by giving support to struggling women and help them achieve their dreams. This project will help in breaking viscus circle of poverty in the community as women become productive and send their children to school.
