Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) will work closely with women groups and startups to provide business training and financing to 1000 peasant women through the Village Savings and Loan Association approach. This will help to empower women financially, socially, economically and culturally to fully participate and engage in economic and environmental sustainability, which creates a pathway for peasant women to move out of poverty.
In Cameroon, poverty, poor nutrition and poor health are critical issues that affect peasant women and their children. Women lack access to potable water, credit facilities, and are not able to participate fully in decision making processes locally. Opportunities on entrepreneurship, capacity buildings and access to land are limited. Due to cultural norms, women are marginalized, less educated; suffer from domestic violence and their girls fall victims of child marriage.
IAA will address these issues by giving hundreds of women/families the chance of overcoming poverty, year by year. We endeavor to achieve this by starting or improving small business activities and giving repayable loans through the Village Savings and Loan Association approach, combined with a short business empowerment, nutrition and agriculture training for peasant women.
We will provide consistent economic empowerment for 1000 women on Micro-business and financing, enabling them to build wealth and invest in their families, creating a pathway out of poverty, and build sustainable communities because investing in women means empowering the whole community and building peace.
